Job Title: Senior Manager Risk and Compliance

Background:

The Senior Risk and Compliance Manager oversees risk management and compliance activities in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking. This role leads to the development and implementation of robust risk management frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry regulations, best practices, and internal objectives.

In addition to these responsibilities, the manager oversees the certification process for RSwitch to adhere to international security standards, ensuring compliance with rigorous security protocols and best practices. This includes managing certifications such as PCI DSS, PCI PIN, and other relevant standards, guaranteeing that RSwitch maintains the highest level of security and trust in its operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive operations policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal objectives, specifically tailored for digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Cultivate a culture of risk awareness and mitigation across the organization, emphasizing the unique challenges and nuances of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking. Develop training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees on identifying and reporting risks.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance and risk management frameworks specifically designed for digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to digital payments, fintech, card payments, open banking, and their impact on risk management.
  • Assess the company’s compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards in the context of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking, providing guidance on necessary actions to internal stakeholders.
  • Design and execute compliance monitoring and testing programs specifically targeting areas of non-compliance within digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking, recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are seamlessly integrated into processes and systems related to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Conduct risk assessments tailored to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking, identifying and assessing potential risks associated with payment processing, fraud, cybersecurity, and operational activities.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies specifically designed for digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring.
  • Analyze data and trends to provide insights into compliance and risk performance related to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking to senior leadership.
  • Lead investigations of compliance incidents and potential breaches within digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking, recommending appropriate remediation actions.
  • Interface with external regulators, auditors, and partners to demonstrate the company’s commitment to compliance and risk management in the context of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of compliance and risk professionals specializing in digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Provide guidance and support to the business specifically on compliance and risk matters pertaining to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices specifically relevant to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures, focusing on the intricacies of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Report on compliance and risk matters related to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking to senior management.
  • Monitor and report on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) specifically within the context of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Act as the main point of contact and assist all internal and external audit teams where compliance inquiries related to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking are required.
  • Ensure execution of required testing and auditing activities for the IT Department specifically related to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking, leading to successful certification of the company on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with Information Security and Legal teams to identify and manage privacy, data protection risks, and compliance requirements specifically related to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Provide broad recommendations on improving compliance-related processes and procedures within the context of digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Undertake any other tasks or advisory related to compliance specifically tailored for digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking proposed or assigned by the company.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in risk management and compliance within the financial services industry, with a focus on digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards pertaining to digital payments, fintech, card payment processing, and open banking.
  • Certified AML FinTech Compliance Associate (CAFCA) for FinTech professionals.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management principles.
  • Certified in Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Certified in Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance.
  • Deep understanding of risk management frameworks associated with digital payments and mobile payments interoperability.
  • Prior experience in drafting and implementing operations policies and procedures, particularly in the context of payment processing or financial services.
  • Proven track record of promoting a risk-aware culture within an organization, including developing and delivering training programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital payment and card payment risk management frameworks, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks specific to these domains.
  • Demonstrated experience with at least two common compliance standards/frameworks (PCI, ISO, NIST, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
